Rocky and Mina - My pitbull and dalmatian |
My buddy, Rocky... I know this site is dedicated to pitbulls, however, my Brindle Boy, Rocky, cannot be without his partner in crime, Mina my Dalmatian. Rocky was a rescue from Tri City Animal Shelter in Fremont, Ca. My wife and I were interested in finding us a Boxer to compliment our 1 year old Dalmatian, but deep down I wanted a pitbull. During "window shopping" at the shelter, I heard the deepest, oudest bark come from one of the kennels. It was this beat up, big-headed 6 mos. old brindle pitbull who was barking like crazy! I approached the kennel and he stood up on his hind legs. I said "sit"... and down he went in a perfect sit!! We went outside to "meet" and I restrained him in a hug. A perfect match...
Little did I know that Rocky was quite the "fixer-upper". He had mange, dew claws, a couple of puppy warts on his face, and he was not yet neutered. He was also a bit on the skinny side, as well. Anyhow, by the looks of the pics, you can see he's grown to be quite the mangificent looking dog: big (he's about 85-90 lbs with a 20 inch head), smart (he can do every trick in the book), loyal, and has found his place in the "pack" of myself, my wife, and my dalmatian, Mina.
